Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 43

 Hi everyone!

It's time for a new party!

This week's featured post and blog is Ten Ways To Use Life As Your Curriculum - Vacation Edition.

This post from Christa at Little Log Cottage School jumped out at me this week, as we're doing the same thing.  We've spent the last week touring the Philadelphia area with family, and are on an international road trip for the next two weeks.  (I'm typing this post from Canada!  Isn't the internet awesome.)

Got your posts to share?  Ready...steady...go!

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 42

Hi everyone!  Happy Saturday, and welcome back!

First, a shout out to the hubby!  This weekend is our 17th Anniversary!  Love you, Neal!

Plus, we've got houseguests all the way from Australia - my maid of honor and her husband have come to visit.  It's a crazy party here!

I've chosen Raising Samuels as the featured blog this week.

Having a preschooler myself, I'm always on the hunt for new ideas.  Lots of great resources for preschoolers and kindergarteners are featured in the post Kelly has shared!

I'm looking forward to all the ideas everyone shares this week!  Ready to link up?  Here we go!

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 41

Happy Weekend! Does it ever seem to you like the weekdays drag but the weekends seem to fly by?

Let's celebrate the weekend with the

First - I'm going to share a post of mine from this week.  We want to "pay it forward" during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Our family has had several relatives - including my mom - who have survived breast cancer, and I would love to see research eradicate it!  To that end, Luke and I are raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (we chose them because over 91% of money donated goes back out to researchers) through our Lilla Rose business.  50% of any profits from any "pink" hair accessory purchased during October will be donated to BCRF.  Click on the image to go to the shopping page, and enter keyword "pink" for all the beautiful accessories that are part of the event.

Second is this week's featured blog, Susan's Homeschool Blog.

She shared an experiment that Jude will love - since things sort of "blow up."

And since they say things come in threes...let's make number 3 our party! Link your Pinterest Boards in the first linky, and your favorite posts in the second.  Have a great week!

It's Back! The Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party!!

 Hi everybody!

Thanks for your patience while the party was on hold.  I really enjoyed hosting and seeing what everyone was doing, but it was starting to take on a life of its own and to hang like a dark cloud over my weekend.  It was just too much Saturday scrambling!  With a little reorganizing, it's time for an all-new round of party!

There's going to be three big changes in the new party:

1.  The linky will only be open until midnight Wednesday.  This way, I'll be able to work a little bit ahead (and not be staying up until past midnight Saturday so everyone has a fair chance to link and be featured).  Who knows? You might even get an early bird notice on Saturday night!  (Submitting a link to the party gives me permission to add you to the mailing list for getting weekly reminders.  If you don't wish to get a reminder, please unsubscribe via the link in the email.)

 2.  I'm only going to be featuring one blogger, rather than three posts, each week.  I love all the sharing that gets done, and am thrilled that people share more than one post.  The problem is that last time when trying to choose favorites, the posts were consistently from the same bloggers each week.  By choosing a single blogger, it will hopefully give everyone a chance to be in the spotlight!

Note: Linking (a) post(s) gives me permission to use images from those posts when you're featured.  Only one linked post is needed to be considered for a feature - the featured blogger will be chosen from the prior week's participants.

3.  I will still be pinning all the links, but links to posts are welcome.   I know it can get confusing with all the different rules the each party has, so in order to simplify, I'm changing things to sharing your blog post.

Other rules:

1. Please follow me on Pinterest.  If you link to the Pinterest link-up, please follow at least two additional people.

2. Post up to 3 links.  Share your homeschool experiences (curriculum reviews welcome!), travels, recipes, etc.  Feel free to share posts from your archives as well as current posts!  I ask that you please only link to family-friendly content, and link to the article you wish to share, not your home page.

3. It's a party, so go mingle! Please visit at least two others in the link-up.  If you've enjoyed what you've read, consider pinning or commenting on those pages.

The featured blogger spot will begin next week, so let's get right into the linkies and start sharing!

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 36

Happy Sunday!  It's a new week and time for another party!

How was your week?  I think we blogged until we couldn't blog any more -- have you caught up with our contribution to the Schoolhouse Crew Review's 5-Day Blog Hop?  Luke actually did most of the writing and I put on my Editor's hat.  He wrote a series about cooking, starting with how to plan your menu and ending with Tiramisu.  If you haven't had a chance to check it out, I hope you do.

Homeschool in the Kitchen April 2014 Blog Series

I'm excited for all of the pins shared last week.  In keeping with our cooking theme for the week, I'm featuring three food items.  Two are recipes, and one is an absolutely adorable Easter craft.

First is Beer Can Chicken from The Seasoned Mom.  I have to admit, as silly as it seems, it is something I've never tried.  One of these days, I will!
Beer Can Chicken

I don't usually like orange-flavored foods, but this Orange Cranberry Bread from Be the One actually is going on my to-make list as well.  It has a lot of fresh orange juice, so I think that it will be light and fresh and springy! It's gluten and dairy free, too so that means I only have to make one batch of treat for everyone!

My last pick is just too adorable not to feature!  I have to admit, I've made my share of graham cracker gingerbread houses at Christmas, but never thought to make a birdhouse for my Easter Peeps!  Thank you, Yesterfood, for the brilliant idea!

What have you been working on this week?  I hope you'll share!

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 34

Happy Sunday!  It's time to party again!

How was your week?  I hope it was a good one.  We had a crazy week, as usual.  I've got weather whiplash -- we started the week with snow and by Friday it was in the upper 60s.  Is it starting to thaw out where you are?  Or are you in the Southern Hemisphere and it's cooling down?

This week, I'm featuring some great ideas for spring and warmer weather!

First is an Easter printable from Makeovers and Motherhood.  "Cutting practice" is on our list of Occupational Therapy "homework," so I definitely see us using these!

Easter Scissor Cutting Practice Sheets from Makeovers and Motherhood

Are you traveling for Easter or Spring Break?  I love some of the travel games ideas that Delivering Grace has shared for keeping kids occupied while you're on the road!

Are you ready for spring cleaning?  I'm watching many of my Jewish friends turn their houses over for Pesach, and don't envy a one!  (On the other hand, they definitely won't have dust bunnies that might just tower over the Easter Bunny...not that we do or anything...) Once everything is tidy again, how about hanging a new, handmade spring wreath like this one made by The Love Nerds!

Thanks to everyone who shared last week!  I can't wait to see what will be shared this week!

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 33

AAAAND we're back!  Welcome to this week's edition of the

It's good to be back with you after last week off!  I originally had planned to pre-schedule the link-up, but just didn't get that far between getting everything else ready to go away.  It was a perfect alignment of events to go -- Spring Training (on our bucket list), a baseball game between our home team Philadelphia Phillies and hubby's other favorite team, the Boston Red Sox (he's been a Sox fan since he was a kid), AND the game was on the night of his birthday.  His mom watched the kids for the weekend, and we had a really great time.  While we really enjoyed the game (the Phillies won!!), I think the best part was sitting outside a Starbucks for two whole hours just being able to talk without interruptions. THAT was worth the plane fare!!

We spent Sunday afternoon on the beach in Sanibel, Florida, caught our flight home to New Jersey, and drove home in the snow.  As if I wasn't over winter already, but now that I've had a taste of baseball...bring on summer!!!

And how about we bring on the party?

In honor of our trip, I'm featuring this pin -- Tips for Vacationing with Kids - from Leah at As We Walk Along the Road.

http://www.pinterest.com/pin/175570085447713223/

Sometimes I think the adage "Moms don't go on vacation, they go on trips," is true, so I'm all about making the family trips more vacation-like.

Let's share!  Please make sure to follow at least one new person, and repin one pin -- make a friend and share the love!

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - week 32

Thanks for stopping by the

It's good to 'see' all of you again!

However, this week the party is on a hiatus. We are celebrating Neal's birthday, so I'm not able to get things ready for a new party.

Don't worry! The party will resume "as normal" next week! Get your pins ready!

See you then!

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 31

Another week closer to spring!  Are you ready for the party?  It's time for the

It's good to 'see' all of you again!   It's been a busy week here, how about in your life?  We've spent the week running between appointments and planning curriculum for next year.  We're slowly getting our act together.  I'm trying to carve out some time to make Neal's grandmother's Hamentashen recipe, since Purim is this weekend.

Gluten Free Hamentashen

I think I may also try to make some of the yummy things pinned last week -- because you can't eat just Hamentashen, right?  Right?

This Skillet Chili Mac from The Sunny Patch looks yummy.  It's a simple dish, and I think Luke might get KP duty one night this week!

Skillet Chili Mac

Roast chicken is one of our favorite meals -- and this Roasted Chicken in a Bundt Pan that Soup Spice Everything Nice has made looks like it's going on Luke's to-do list too.  (Actually, it's really, really simple -- I bet even Jude could make it!)

Roast Chicken in a Bundt Pan

And I think I foresee these Slow Cooker BBQ Meatballs from The Dinner Pages in our future as well.  Usually when I think of meatballs, I think "Italian," but I like the idea of BBQ meatballs.  Plus, given how much we run around, a crockpot meal that's ready to go for whenever people wander through the kitchen is a definite good thing!

So, who's ready to join the linkies for this week?  Share your Pinterest and pins below!

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 30

It's a new month, a new week, and time for the

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party

I hope everyone had a good week!  We had a pretty good one.  Hectic, as usual (life always is when you have five kids) but overall, a good week.  I'll take it.

March mean bunnies and springtime and...more snow.  Gosh, I'm over the snow.  Is it warming up where you are?  This weekend started "meteorological spring," but apparently somebody forgot to tell Mother Nature.  We're slated for yet another foot of snow this week.  So far, we've had the third snowiest winter on record, but aren't that far from overtaking the number two spot.  I'll be cruising Pinterest looking for crock-pot meals to have going while I'm helping dig the house out again.  (Gotta keep a clear path for the UPS guy to bring all the review goodies!)

Ready to party? I'm adding a new feature -- leave your Pinterest link as well as your pin!  Everyone please follow at least the person above you on the linky, that way everyone makes a new friend.

Favorites from last week:

Color Mix Icicles
These look like fun!  If it's going to be cold, then might as well have fun with it, right?  These Color Mixing Icicles fit the bill, AND you can watch them from inside!

Chicken Tortilla Soup

This Chicken Tortilla Soup looks warm and hearty and simple...perfect to leave simmering whether you're headed to soccer practice or to shovel!

And if you're out of other things to do, then fire up the oven and bake some more cookies!

Italian Finger Sandwich cookies

These Italian Finger Butter Sandwich cookies look delicious, and chocolate makes everything better.

Don't forget to check out the Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party board, where you'll find all the pins from prior parties.

Who is ready to link up?

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 29

It's a new week!  Happy end-of-February and welcome back to an Olympic-sized

Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party at Adventures with Jude

Has it been a good week for you?  It's been pretty good here.  Only one day of snow...and TWO days where it was warm enough to play outside!  Friday it got up in to the 60s!!  The little boys and I went outside to play after schoolwork was done, and managed a whole half hour before the tornado warnings and thunderstorms started.  Ah well -- we had a good time, especially since there's more snow forecasted for this week! I'm thinking they should have held the Olympics in Philadelphia instead of Sochi...

Let's get to the partying, shall we?

First, as always, my favorite pins.

These Olympic Cookies from A Class of One deserve a medal.

Olympic Cookies

(Just like ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White!  Since Luke and Celia are ice dancers as well, there was much excitement when they skated World-Record performances!)

Another medal for Motherhood and Makeovers for great winter-themed Kid-Friendly Service Projects.

(Because heroes are not just sliding on ice, but salting paths so others who DON'T want to slide aren't!)

One more medal awarded to As We Walk Along the Road for this Chemical Free Oven Cleaning tutorial.

No smells, no fuss, no "performance enhancing substances" involved?  Totally medal-worthy in my book!

All of the entries have been pinned to the Sunday Sharing Pinterest Board, so let's get a new party going!  Link up your favorites!  Please try to link PINS and not blog posts - it is a Pinterest party, after all!
